While in Law School, my old friend attended an Ethics class. His favorite lecture was about 2 brothers who owned a Jewelry store. One afternoon a customer purchased a nice watch for his wife and paid one of the brothers with 5 $100 bills. Or so he thought. It turned out 2 of the new $100 bills had been stuck together – so that poor customer actually shelled out $600.

So, the law professor posed the following question to his ethics students – In a situation like this do you think the brother who discovered the extra $100 bill should tell his brother before pocketing the $100?
